For over two decades, the Berlin Conference has brought together leading voices from the arts and politics from across Europe in the vicinity of the Brandenburg Gate and the Holocaust Memorial in order to explore the role of culture in building a democratic future. In 2025, we continue this tradition at a time when democracy and social cohesion face renewed and pressing challenges.
Organised by Stiftung Zukunft Berlin in cooperation with its civil society initiative A Soul for Europe, the European Festivals Association and the Evangelische Akademie zu Berlin, the Berlin Conference brings together voices, perspectives, and networks from across Europe in a political space of conversation and action shaping. This year’s conference focuses on the power of cultural participation to strengthen democratic resilience. Through keynotes, debates and collaborative sessions, we invite artists, policymakers and civil society actors to reflect, exchange and co-create and offer a much-needed space for dialogue – always with the aim of turning ideas into action.
